Ultrasound of the neck is a part of an artery and vein ultrasound. It mainly serves to diagnose narrowings or occlusions of the carotid and cerebral arteries and it will show the doctors the condition of the arteries and veins, both deep and superficial.
If you have any suspicion for narrowings or occlusions, do not hesitate to contact us. If you think that something is out of order, it is good to start taking care of these vital body parts as soon as possible to prevent unnecessary health complications. Prevention is as important as eventual treatment.
In case of an ultrasound examination (ultrasonography or echocardiography that doctors use) ultrasound waves pass through you body, which bounce back from your arteries and veins, eventually also from transitions between tissues with different acoustic impedances.
The doctor will inform you, how to correctly lay down on the medical bed. As part of the examination, the doctor uses a special gel, which guarantees a safe contact of a probe with your body and using ultrasound takes the necessary images. You do not have to worry, ultrasonography is completely painless and doesn’t stress your body with x-rays. Everything is absolutely safe.
You can come to have an examination even without a referral from your general practitioner or a specialist. In most cases, there is no special preparation needed beforehand.
A physician specializing in ultrasound examinations dedicates our patient 45 minutes, after which he will give you a complete medical report. To provide maximum care and the soonest possible dates, these examinations are not covered by czech health insurance. The price is available for public knowledge and you can find it in our price list.

My only regret is that I didn't sign up for a membership years ago! From the very first meeting with my GP (which was 90 minutes and she was really listening, nothing felt rushed) I have had really positive encounters with all the doctors, nurses, and staff at Atoda. They really do their best to make you feel comfortable and cared for. They take a holistic look at your health, the information is shared between doctors, and you can choose to see a specialist within the clinic or get a referral to another doctor where you insurance would cover so it's very flexible to your needs and budget. Most of all it just took all the stress out of visiting doctors and turned it into a pleasant and caring experience. Highly recommend.

I would like to share my positive experience with the Atoda clinic (and Dr. Nader). About a year ago, my mother (86 years old) began to change before our eyes from one day to the next. She had a constant fever and complained of pain in her shoulders. We visited our general practitioner several times, but he dismissed us, saying that she had probably caught a cold. Someone advised me to try rheumatology (the first piece of advice, which unfortunately did not come from our general practitioner).
The waiting time for an appointment was about three months at that time, so I called around the entire Central Bohemian Region. And then I found the ATODA MEDICAL website. From that moment on, it was like I was in a different world—we made an appointment for the next day, treatment began immediately after the examination, and within three days, my mother began to feel relief for the first time after months of pain. Dr. Nader gave her back her zest for life! His professional yet humane approach is truly incredible. He is great at establishing rapport, calmed my mother down, and made the treatment easier. The overall attitude of the reception and staff is also wonderful. Thank you on behalf of myself and my mother!!!!:-)
