When should you consider getting vaccinated against typhoid fever?

Vaccination against typhoid fever is recommended especially when traveling to Asia, Africa, or Latin America. The vaccine protects the body against Salmonella Typhi, the bacterium that causes this disease. We offer the injectable form of the vaccine (a single dose). Don’t wait until the last minute—contact us by phone or email.

Typhoid vaccination: cost and administration process

During consultations, patients often ask:

  • Is the vaccine safe?
  • How long before travel should I get vaccinated?
  • What are the side effects?

The typhoid vaccination itself is quick and safe, and is generally very well tolerated. The administration is done on an outpatient basis and takes only a few minutes. Before the vaccination, the doctor will discuss your health status, travel plans, and any additional recommendations with you. It is recommended to get vaccinated at least 2 - 3 weeks before departure to allow your body to build sufficient immunity.

The cost of the typhoid vaccination may vary depending on the type of vaccine and current availability. Therefore, we recommend contacting us. We will be happy to provide you with current prices and suggest the most suitable solution.

Typhoid vaccination: cost, efficacy, duration, and protection

Are you still wondering whether to get vaccinated against typhoid? Are you curious about the vaccine’s efficacy, duration, and protection?

The effectiveness of the typhoid vaccine ranges from approximately 50% to 80%, so it is important to combine vaccination with preventive measures (safe drinking water, food hygiene). The duration of protection varies depending on the type of vaccine:

  • injectable vaccine: approx. 3 years,
  • oral vaccine: approx. 1 year.

Our general practitioner for adults will inform you about appropriate booster shots, or a specialist at the vaccination center should do so.

Typhoid Fever Vaccination (Prague)

If you are planning a trip with your family, we recommend consulting with a specialist. Typhoid fever vaccination is available starting at a certain age (generally for children aged 2 and older for the injectable vaccine). At our clinic, we also work with specialists in pediatric vaccinations, so we can help you create a safe vaccination schedule.

If necessary, we can also refer you to our top-rated and experienced pediatrician, who will assess your child’s health.

Combination of hepatitis and typhoid vaccinations (Prague)

We are experts in vaccinations (for both hepatitis and typhoid), and we at ATODA Medical (Prague) will consult with you and suggest the ideal combination based on your destination - even today.

I have used the service of the Physiotherapist, Mr. Strakoš, who helped me get rid of  contractions in my head after a stroke.

My brother has used the service of the Dermatologist, Mr. Bortlik, who helped him with a chronic eczema that stopped occurrence.

Both specialists are high professionals with empathy to customers.

Some other staff members - I have had a chance to meet - are kind and willing to help. Moreover, the environment is pleasant and welcoming to customers. Thank you for such a great experience!

Our children have paid for membership for the second year and we do not regret it, we will definitely continue. We have comparisons with other big competitors in Prague, who offer the same services, but the approach and willingness to meet us and just advise over the phone is not a problem. Comparison like when you have a luxury car and it does not drive well, so you will be satisfied with a less luxurious, but with great driving characteristics...here you get both, no compromises. Beautiful clinic, nice and helpful staff, professional examination, parking right next to the clinic and if you need something from the pharmacy, it is just around the corner. Recommended!
