Preventive prostate and blood tests at ATODA Medical

The prostate, or prostate gland, is a gland of the male reproductive system located below the bladder and in front of the anus. Its primary function is the production of fluid, which is part of semen. Examination of the prostate gland is essential for early diagnosis of diseases that can cause serious consequences if not treated in time.

Prevention of prostate disease is important to maintain men's health, especially as they age. Although some risk factors, such as age and genetics, cannot be changed, there are many ways to reduce the risk of prostate problems through lifestyle and regular medical care.

Call ATODA Medical today. Our urology department offers comprehensive, modern care for patients with prostate problems (women's issues are handled by our top-notch urogynecology department). Prostate: prevention can be easy

Prevention of prostate disease involves several key measures, including:

  • A healthy diet, rich in fruits, vegetables, tomatoes (lycopene), fish (omega-3 fatty acids), soy and legumes, and with a reduction in animal fats, can contribute significantly to prostate health.
  • Regular physical activity and maintaining a healthy weight reduce the risk of disease.
  • Limiting alcohol and smoking is also important, as is adequate hydration.

Regular medical checkups are essential for early detection. Prevention and early diagnosis can save lives, so don't wait and contact us!

Symptoms of prostate disease that you must not neglect

Prostate: symptoms among the most common

The most common symptoms of prostate problems include:

  • Difficulty urinating (weak urine stream, intermittent urination).
  • Frequent urination, especially at night (nycturia).
  • Pain or burning when urinating (dysuria).
  • Presence of blood in the urine or semen (haematuria or haematospermia).
  • Pain in the lower abdomen, on the perineum in and around the rectum.

Symptoms of prostate cancer, prostatitis (inflammation of the prostate) and an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia, BPH) can overlap to a large extent, which can make it difficult to distinguish between them without a medical examination. How do the different prostate diseases differ?

1. Prostate cancer symptoms

Prostate cancer (prostate cancer) often has no obvious symptoms in the early stages. When symptoms appear, they may include:

  • Problems with urination, such as a weak or intermittent stream of urine.
  • Frequent urination, especially at night.
  • Pain or burning when urinating.
  • Presence of blood in the urine or semen.
  • Pain in the lower back, pelvis or upper thighs.
  • Erectile dysfunction.
  • In advanced stages, bone pain and weight loss may occur.

Have you been diagnosed with prostate cancer? Treatment must be started immediately. Treatment for prostate cancer most often includes radiotherapy and chemotherapy, but it always depends on the severity of the disease.

2. Prostate inflammation symptoms

Inflammation of the prostate, or prostatitis, can be acute, but chronic prostatitis is also common, and symptoms can vary:

  • Pain or discomfort in the pelvic area, lower back or genitals.
  • Frequent and painful urination, often associated with an urgent urge to urinate.
  • Pain or burning when urinating.
  • Difficulty urinating or intermittent urination.
  • Flu-like symptoms such as fever, chills and fatigue (more common in acute prostatitis).
  • Pain on ejaculation.
  • Haematuria or haematospermia.

3. Enlarged prostate symptoms

Benign prostatic hyperplasia, also known as prostatic hypertrophy, is an enlarged prostate in a man that most commonly affects men in older age. Symptoms can resemble prostate cancer but are not usually associated with pain.

  • Difficulty initiating urination.
  • A weak or intermittent stream of urine.
  • Frequent urination, especially at night (nocturnal pollakiuria).
  • Feeling of incomplete emptying of the bladder.
  • Sudden and strong urge to urinate.
  • Urinary retention, which is the inability to empty the bladder completely.

Are you suffering from an enlarged prostate? Treatment after an accurate diagnosis should come as soon as possible.

How is not only prostate cancer treated, but also other diseases?

Treatment of prostate disease depends on the specific diagnosis. From experience, we present only some common methods.

  • Medication: alpha-blockers or 5-alpha-reductase inhibitors are often prescribed to treat BPH.
  • Surgery: For advanced cases of BHP or prostate cancer, surgery such as transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) or radical prostatectomy may be necessary.
  • Radiotherapy and chemotherapy: These are mainly used to treat prostate cancer.
  • Hormone therapy: Reduces levels of male hormones that can promote the growth of cancer cells.

Why is prostate treatment so important?

If prostate problems are not diagnosed and treated early, they can have serious consequences and the prognosis will not be positive.

  • Chronic urinary retention: Can lead to damage to the bladder and kidneys.
  • Urinary tract infections: Incomplete emptying of the bladder increases the risk of infections.
  • Infertility: Chronic prostate problems can affect sperm production and fertility.
  • Metastasis: Prostate cancer, if not treated in time, can metastasize to other parts of the body, such as the bones or lymph nodes.

Dr. Pavel Beno is an incredible professional, the others are also, although you pay, but it is worth it. You start to feel like a VIP when you arrive, it's about health, I will never let myself be treated elsewhere again. I'm looking forward to the check-up, Mr. ex-primary is a capacity,I recommend it to everyone and honestly,I've experienced a lot of hospitals where they treat you as if you're bothering them.
